Your employees want to feel more connected - but with remote work, more silos, and busier schedules, where do you start?

We help HR and organizational leaders offer joyful, science-backed ways for their employees to build meaningful connections in a short amount of time, so they are happier, more engaged, and stay longer.

70%
of employees are disengaged, the highest in over a decade.

“Employees still feel more detached from -- and less satisfied with -- their organizations and are less likely to connect to the companies’ mission and purpose or to feel someone cares about them as a person.”-GALLUP, January 2024

Great companies know that strong, inclusive relationships are key to employee success. Gallup research has shown that having a best friend at work is key to employee engagement and happiness and is strongly linked to business outcomes like retention and profitability.Yet relationships take time and skill to build, especially across people who are very different from one another. With increasingly spread-out and diverse teams, busier schedules, and more anxiety around socializing, it’s becoming harder and harder for employees to build strong relationships - and strong networks - on their own.

Today's employees demand more inclusive connection than ever - yet it's only getting harder to do in the modern world.

At The Gathering Lab, we use our science-backed method to take the stress out of socializing at work and make it easy for employees to build real connections.

Whether you are looking to break down silos at a team retreat, catalyze connections quickly at a division meeting, or help remote workers build their network, we've got a solution for you. The Gathering Lab helps activate organic, quality relationships across groups through purposeful social connection. Whether it's 30 or 3,000 employees, our scalable method uses technology and the science of how we bond to accelerate authentic connections, learn about each other's roles, and deepen sense of purpose across colleagues. The Gathering Lab experience includes:

Meaningfully matched groups

At work, it's hard to get past the surface-level - and yet, that's often where true, genuine connection lies. That's why we use our questionnaire to understand each employee's unique values, interests, and aspirations, so that we can create small, intentionally diverse groups based on commonalities that go beyond the surface.

Discussion prompts to easily find deeper connection

When we're talking to people we don't know or are very different than us, it can be hard to know what to ask about. At The Gathering Lab, we provide each group with custom discussion prompts tailored to their specific interests and values - so that it's easy for the group to find the connective tissue around things they share.

Intentionally sequenced sessions and prompts

Icebreakers and team-building activities can often feel forced or cheesy, which can shut some employees down. That's why our sessions and prompts are intentionally sequenced to build affinity and vulnerability, so that the connection builds naturally and organically.

Research-based nudges

Employees often do not know how critical relationships are to their success, and the skill of relationship-building may not come naturally to them. The Gathering Lab experience weaves in the science around the power of connection, including the actionable ways employees can build strong, organic connections on their own.
